Media creates false foetus extraction theory of Sooraj Pancholi

The story of the unfortunate suicide of Jiah Khan (Nafisa Rizvi – real name) has been doing the media rounds ever since that fateful day when her body was discovered hanging in her bedroom.

The shock and dismay over a talented upcoming actress’ death, soon gave over to the blame of her suicide being put upon her boyfriend actor Sooraj Pancholi. Apparently, both were in a relationship and Sooraj meeting another woman triggered a chain of events which culminated in Jiah Khan’s suicide. This is as per the press Release issued by the CBI on 9th December 2015.

Sooraj Pancholi was earlier charged and arrested under Section 498a of the Indian Penal Code, which is a law that safeguards women from cruelty perpetrated by husband and his relatives. Here Sooraj and Jiah weren’t married, yet this Section was evoked. The only understandable reason could be that since it is a non-bailable, cognizable and non-compoundable law, it is easier for the authorities to arrest the accused. The fact that they were not married has escaped both, the investigation agencies as well as the media which by now had decided to make Sooraj a villain.

The same villainous streak of the media to paint Sooraj a villain, has continued when this report was filed which says Sooraj ‘extricated’ foetus being carried by Jiah. It also mentions that Sooraj didn’t want to take her to the hospital because his career would be threatened. This clearly shows an attempt to create an impression of Sooraj being guilty of abetment to suicide in the minds of their readers.

Sooraj Pancholi extricated Jiah’s foetus as she bled, says CBI

But if we go through the Press Release of the Central Bureau of Investigation, no such thing is even mentioned at all.
It also takes care not to name Sooraj as the ‘private person’ something which the sensation seeking media never cares for.

A similar thing had happened in the case of the rape of a 28 day baby.  After the news drew international notoriety of India being a rape culture, came the news that the alcoholic father of the baby is a serial false accuser.
When his wife charged rape falsely last time, if proper penalty would have been levied, they wouldn’t have dared to file another false case. More detailed report on this is available here:

In case of Jiah’s death, the media wanting to put blame on some man for a woman’s death is giving its judgement without considering that Jiah’s career would be more at stake as an actress, hence primarily a stronger reason for both of them to take care of the news breaking out. Both decided to abort, decided to visit a gynaecologist together, but only Sooraj is being blamed now. Also, how is it possible for a person to ‘extricate’ a 4 week old foetus, is something open for debate. This is clearly an attempt to demonise men by attributing horrific actions on Sooraj. IF the story of extricating foetus is proven wrong, will the media apologize to Sooraj?
